Cesare Monti
Architecture and design. One approach.

My work moves between architecture and product design, across scales and materials, seeking a dialogue between form, light and function.
I graduated in Architecture from the Politecnico di Torino, where I later taught gridshells and spatial structures as an adjunct professor for three years. With members of the Renzo Piano Building Workshop, I won the Autogrill competition with a suspended, cable-supported wing.
After my early experience at RFR in Paris, I established my own practice in Italy. Since 2019, I have been based in Linz, Austria, working through international collaborations.
Architecture
Projects include the entrance to the Sporting Club in Monte Carlo; the Reflex headquarters in Treviso and showroom in Brera, Milan; the glass lift and bridge at the Fantoni private museum in Osoppo; the Eurogroup glass façade; the Belmonte headquarters in Montpellier; and the staircase for Chopard in Geneva.
Design
Furniture and product design include the CATAS Award-winning Shell chair, LHEA for Spalli, and the collaboration with Austroflamm. TENSYON for Oxidal was selected for the ADI Design Index 2011.
Exhibitions & competitions
In 2008, my work was featured in AREA’s Milan exhibition “1968–2008. Forty years of design between continuity and discontinuity”. In 2011, with Benedetto di Camerana, I won the competition for Torre Littoria in Turin.
